Theresa Platte

Welcome to Beach Premier Field Hockey, Inc.. We are a travel field hockey organization based in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Our goal includes the development of young athletes through exposure to local, regional, and national levels of competition in the sport of Field Hockey. The organization includes teams within the U12, U14, U16 and U19 age groups.

Through a tryout selection process, we are able to choose the best athletes to represent our area in various local and national tournaments. We travel to the USFHA National Field Hockey Festival, AAU Spring Field Hockey Classic, USFHA National Indoor Field Hockey tournaments, along with other regional events throughout the calendar year.

Many of our current team members are participating in the USFHA Futures developmental program, the Junior Olympics, USFHA International Developmental tours, and the U16 National team. Our Alumni are currently competing at the NCAA Division I, II and III levels, in the Futures FDIC program, and are members of the US National Team.

The Beach Premier programs are led by Theresa Platte. Theresa serves as owner/director of Beach Premier and coaches the U19 Waves. She works diligently within the Virginia Beach area to promote the sport of field hockey, serving as Varsity Coach for Tallwood High School, and Brandon Middle School. She is currently teaching Health & Physical Education at Tallwood High School.

The U19 Riptides, U16 Breakers, U16 Ripcurls, U14 Whitecaps and the new U12 Jetties are all coached by outstanding local coaches with a wealth of experience at the high school and collegiate levels. The U14 and U12 teams are primarily developmental teams which play during the fall and winter seasons. The U19 and U16 teams compete in the both the National Festival Tournament and the National Indoor Tournament. Tryouts for the teams traveling to Festival are at the beginning of May and Indoor season begins in early January. Tryouts are always posted on the web site.

This site is dedicated to promoting the sport of field hockey and the "Best of the Beach".
